July 5-11, 2021 at the Hawaii Convention Center

Daily 2-hour session between the hours of 12pm-8pm (with sanitation time)

Overview

The Solo and String Quartet (SSQ) offers dedicated students an emphasis on chamber music, individualized instruction, and performance opportunities. Led by program director, Ignace “Iggy” Jang, the students are encouraged to thrive under the guidance of an outstanding and inspiring faculty.

Includes PMI+ for free! All students are encouraged to participate in these online masterclasses. Culminating performances will be featured in the PMI E-Festival on July 31st.

Limited enrollment due to safety protocols.

Eligibility

Eligible instruments include violin, viola, and cello.

Students entering 6th grade and up with at least 2 years of experience on their instrument.

Special Appearance by Dave Moss, Executive Director of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.

As an accomplished violist, Dave Moss has collaborated with Joshua Bell, Itzhak Perlman, Jamie Laredo, Miriam Fried, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Yo-Yo Ma, Renée Fleming, and with members of the Juilliard, Guarneri, and Ying Quartets. 

Moss is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and received his Masters degree from The Juilliard School as an Irene Diamond fellow.
