STEP #1
Register! Fill out your information, apply for financial aid (if applicable), and submit payment.
STEP #2:
Receive your email confirmation with Video Submission link.
STEP #3:
Fill out and submit Information and Consent Form.
STEP #4:
Practice, record, and submit your placement video requirements by May 31st.* Enrollment will be first come first served based on fully completed registrations.
*Jazz Intensive videos are due April 30th.

Middle School All-State Band
Nominated students- In order to help us select repertoire and assign parts, please submit a short (one minute) video of you performing a passage from your band music. This is not an audition.

Refund Policy
Program withdrawals are effective on the date written notice is received by the PMI General Manager. All withdrawal requests must be submitted by email to pmi@hiyouthsymphony.org; no other form of notice will be accepted.
Registration fees are refundable, less a $75 administrative fee, only if written notice is received by 11:59 p.m. on June 15, 2026. No refunds will be issued for withdrawal requests received after June 15, 2026.
Hawai‘i Youth Symphony is proud to be able to offer assistance to local students, so that any interested Hawaiʻi student may participate, regardless of financial ability. More information about the Financial Aid program is available at our website.
Additional scholarships may be available for neighbor island and Title I schools. Please contact jeremy@hiyouthsymphony.org for more information.
Need-based financial aid is made possible through generous donations from individual Hawai‘i Youth Symphony donors and the Michael Nakasone Legacy Fund In Honor of Youth Symphony II by Olivia de Jane.
Although financial aid awards come in a variety of amounts, depending on demonstrated need, families should expect to pay at least 50% tuition. HYS does not make any full-tuition awards. Financial aid funding is limited, and we are unable to make awards to every applicant. Financial aid is only available to Hawaiʻi residents. PMI does not provide travel assistance for out of state students.

Refund Policy
Fees are refundable less a $75 administration fee. From July 1, 2023, all fees are non-refundable. No refund offered for PMI MS All-State Band
