ARIS DOIKE

Cello

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, Aris Doike has a diverse background as a performer, educator and arts administrator. Aris graduated with degrees in cello performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and Southern Methodist University. During his time there, he had the privilege to study with renowned cellists Andres Diaz, Christopher Adkins, and Judith Glyde. He has performed recitals both internationally and on the mainland, and has appeared as soloist with the Honolulu Symphony, Boulder Philharmonic, and Oahu Civic Orchestra. As an advocate for music education, Aris strongly believes in the importance of giving back and serving his local community. He is the treasurer for the Hawaii American String Teachers Association (HASTA), was formerly the Director of Operations for the Hawaii Youth Symphony, and has been a clinician for schools across the state and the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival’s Young Artist Program. Currently, Aris is on faculty and coaches chamber music at ʻIolani School, has a thriving private cello studio, and performs with the Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra.
